Annual OTA Tournament Details
Each summer, the Owatonna Tennis Association proudly hosts its Annual OTA Summer Tournament, a celebrated event that brings together tennis enthusiasts from across the region. Now in its 11th year, the tournament offers competitive play for both youth and adult divisions over an exciting weekend of matches. 11th Annual Tennis Tournament
July 11-13, 2025
The Owatonna Tennis Association hosted its 11th annual tennis tournament on July 11-13, 2025 at the Owatonna high school courts. The weekend weather was perfect for the event, mostly sunny and in the mid-80”s. Feedback from spectators and participants gave high remarks on the event and deemed it a great success!
A total of 85 competitors signed up to play men’s and women’s singles, doubles, mixed doubles and junior singles. Throughout the three-day event a total of 93 matches took place with 50 singles players and 40 doubles teams vying for a title in one or more of the 10 draws. The players represented 23 cities from southern Minnesota, the Twin Cities, and even one as far away as Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Owatonna was well represented with 32 juniors and adults playing. A highlight this year included an exhibition match with two Division 1 tennis players, Matt Hokanson and Anthony Scheglowski.
The first place, second place and consolation winners included:
- Boys/Girls 12 & under singles: 1st – Korbin Collins, 2nd – Thorin Sammon, consolation – Ezra Simmerman
- Boys 16 & under singles: 1st – Tristan Gibart, 2nd – Armaan Bhatti, consolation – Landon Rahn
- Men’s A singles: 1st – Carson Sorg, 2nd – Dean Hanson, consolation – Tyler Jellum
- Men’s B singles: 1st – Max Seabolt, 2nd – Miles Leopold, consolation – Sam Velva
- Men’s A doubles: 1st – Matt Hokanson & Chris Herzog, 2nd – Carson Kramer & Brandon Petricka, consolation – Jackson Mottl & Leyton Williams
- Men’s B doubles: 1st – Tyler Jellum & Tanner Hanson, 2nd – Adam Diaz & Ben Diaz, consolation – Miles Leopold & Nelson Landrau

The Owatonna Tennis Association is a non-profit, volunteer based organization that was established in 1987. - Men’s Singles, A, B

Kids Division
- Boys 12 and Under
- Girls 12 and Under
- Boys 16 and Under
- Girls 16 and Under
The adult A division is intended for top high school and college level players; the B division is intended for high school and good adult players. If a particular division lacks participants, divisions may be combined. If you have a question about your placement in a division, feel free to contact the tournament director. With approval, children may move up in age level or compete in an adult division.

Two-Division Limit: Participants will be limited to entry into two divisions (Either singles and a doubles division or two doubles divisions).
Entry Fees
First Entry: $30 ($25 for OTA Members)
Second Entry: $20 ($15 for OTA Members)
Two-Match Minimum: Every player is guaranteed at least two matches. First round losers will be entered in a consolation bracket.
When Matches Will Begin: Most matches will begin on Saturday, July 12th. In the event of a large number of participants in a particular division, some players may begin play the evening of Friday, July 11th.
T-Shirts, refreshments and snacks will be provided.
